FAQ

Pharma & Lab Questions

High-value questions from pharma, lab and clinical buyers — answered straight.

How long does dry ice last in a shipper?
Inside an insulated cooler, dry ice holds up to 5 days. A box of pellets sublimates faster than solid blocks because of surface area — ask us which format fits your transit time.
What temperature does dry ice hold?
Dry ice sits at −78.5 °C (−109.3 °F). Gel packs hold the 2–8 °C window for up to 48 hours. Most pharmaceutical shipments need both: the deep-freeze leg and the refrigerated one.
How much dry ice do I need per shipment?
As a general guide, count 5–10 lb of dry ice per 24 hours for every 15 quarts of cooler space; 10–20 lb in a well-insulated cooler lasts 24–48 hours. These are estimates: ambient temperature and handling change the rate. Tell us the route and we size it.
Which formats do you supply?
Pellets of 1/2–3/4 in for shipping boxes and targeted cooling. Solid blocks of 5 and 10 lb for bulk storage and large volumes. Gel packs for the 2–8 °C leg.
Is your dry ice suitable for pharmaceutical and biological shipments?
Yes. We supply food-grade dry ice, gel packs and insulated coolers to pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech companies, laboratories and logistics providers across Florida. What we supply is the cold, not your packaging qualification: tell us the shipment and the transit time and we will tell you the format and the quantity.
Do you offer recurring supply agreements for labs and clinics?
Yes. A commercial account is how most labs and clinics buy from us: tell us your usage, your location and how often you need a delivery, and we agree the cadence and quote the rate so you are not placing an order from scratch every time.
What bulk volumes are available for pharmaceutical clients?
We supply both pellets and solid blocks in commercial quantities, starting with 40-lb boxes and scaling to larger bulk orders. Contact us with your estimated monthly volume and we’ll build a quote and delivery schedule to match.
How quickly can you respond to urgent or emergency orders?
In as little as 1 hour for addresses inside our South Florida coverage zone. At Miami International Airport we are on 24/7 standby for emergency dry ice, gel packs and replacement coolers. Anywhere else, call us and we will tell you the fastest option from the nearest location.
Do you deliver to laboratories, hospitals, and clinical facilities?
Yes. We deliver to labs, hospitals, clinics, biotech facilities, and pharma distributors across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Myers, and Puerto Rico. Contact us to confirm coverage for your specific address and schedule a first delivery.
Can you provide pellets and blocks in the same order?
Absolutely — many pharma and research customers order both. Pellets give precision for specimen packaging; blocks give sustained cooling for bulk shipments and long transit. Tell us your split and we’ll load the order accordingly.
